Alan Mark Paukman designs, teaches, photographs, and writes about architecture. A licensed architect from New York City, his work explores how built environments shape our senses and well-being.

Alan’s career spans his solo practice, roles at Foster + Partners, and retail design for Calvin Klein and Khaite. He co-founded Nikolai Rose, a jewelry studio, and Swelter House, crafting custom saunas for private residences. His projects have been featured in publications like Architectural Digest, Vogue, and Vanity Fair.

Trained at Columbia University (M.Arch) and NYU’s Gallatin School (BA), Alan has been a professor at Tulane and NYIT, and served as a guest critic at Columbia and Cornell. His approach to architecture is shaped by time spent visiting and photographing timeless buildings around the world.
